CMS with two CONS systems

Former Member

Hi folks,

I have this CMS track: DEV -> CONS -> PRD.

My customer needs other CONS system between CONS and PRD:

DEV -> CONS -> CONS2 -> PRD.

The CMS configuration guide appendix section shows how to configure different variants. But all variants have more that one system attached... I don’t have sure if it is possible one DEV system pointed to two CONS systems! Anyone knows? If it is, do I need a new track? Like this one: DEV -> CONS

-> CONS2

Thanks in advance,

Ricardo.

Yes we can do but will have problems because it is diffcult know to which system it went.

other way i would suggest DEV to File system copy to CONS & CONS2.

I would suggest to use DEV -> CONS -> CONS2 -> PRD.

HI Chilla,

Right now I have one track DEV -> CONS -> PRD.

What you said is that I need to split it in 3 tracks?

DEV -> CONS1 = track1

CONS1 -> CONS2 = track2

CONS2 -> PRD = track3

But like CMS configuration guide shows: "In addition, all the referenced XI systems in track A and track B must be different."

I Can't repeat CONS1 and CONS2 into different tracks!

I guess with two tracks:

track1 DEV -> CONS1

track2 CONS2 -> PRD

... and link track1 and track2 using track connections.

Thanks in advance,

Ricardo.

Hi,

The following track definitions are currently not supported:

• Two-system landscape with one central development system with multiple local

production systems: a DEV with multiple CONS systems

• Three-system landscape with one central development system, one central

consolidation system, and multiple local production systems.

A DEV, a CONS, and multiple PROD systems or subsequent tracks (see above),

where the latter do not have exactly the same scenarios, but are selected depending

on the scenarios of the PROD systems or subsequent tracks.

• Three-system landscape with one central development system, one central

consolidation system, multiple local production systems. This variant will be possible

soon.

A DEV, a CONS, and subsequent tracks with only one DEV system.

If only three systems are used in a system landscape, these must be specified within a

track. If you want to supply multiple productive systems, you must create at least one

subsequent track with at least two different systems. You must ensure that the

Integration Directories of the DEV systems of the subsequent tracks have exactly the

same version as the production version system of the original track.

Due to this reason , i said multiple CONS with one DEV and one PROD not supported.

These are possible..

But we can have two systems tracks

We can have three systems track

We can have 5 systems -- here we can have LandscapeA DEV1-CONS1 - PROD1

Landscape B DEV2 - CONS2

We can have 6 system -- here LandscapeA DEV1 - CONS1 - PROD1

Landscape B DEV2 - CONS2 - PROD2

I hope it is clear..
