Hi Team,

Ours is SAP ECC 6.0 system, we have 8Tb of database size.

We have multi client which are used for different geographic & one client is cross client, from this cross client we need to delete old transactional data.

This data is no longer required and can be deleted.

We thought of archiving objects in some sequence to remove data from all tables.

Can anyone guide, what is the sequence of archiving or what dependencies we need to check ??

Thanks.

Regads,

CS.

1. Analyze your data base size.

2. Find out the fastest growing tables

3. Identify Archiving objects for this tables.

4. Use sara to run your archiving jobs.

5. Use SARI to retrieve your Archive data.

the above points are very brief, infact there is lots

of documentation available in web, please use below link

Hi CS,

Technically it is not possible to archive data from different client with single archiving job.

You may need to schedule these archiving jobs for each of the client.

You may need to first analyze the tables for which archiving needs to be performed.

Later you may need to identify the archiving objects for these tables.

Schedule archiving jobs with proper variants. In case of errors analyze it and you may be required to seek functional help for close functional issues.

Hope this helps.

Hi Deepak,

We have multiple clients in our ECC landscape. But we want to delete transactional data from only one client, which is used for cross client developments.

We identified the list of objects through  TAANA and DB15. But now facing small challenge in defining sequence in between these selected objects.

It will be helpful if you can assist in getting some way to define this sequencing faster.

Many thanks in advance.

Hi,

You need to check in SARA for each of these objects whether any pre-processing step is required.

For eg: for PP_ORDER object has a pre-processing step of MM_MATBEL. In this case your sequence should be MM_MATBEL first followed by PP_ORDER.

Hope this helps.

You can check order the in AOBJ or ARA using the Network Graphic function where the responsible application definded the correct order and and the additional archiving objects and classes for the hereby mentioned archiving objects.

First of all tables are cross client not clients themselves !!

Client is  itself just a table field value so how can it be cross client or anything :-). I guess what you mean is that client is open for cross client customizing.

Anyways coming to your question.Almost all (majority at least) if not all transaction tables are client dependent tables. Secondly lot of archiving set up job needs to be done in each and every client for which archiving needs to be be run.

Thirdly get your functional folks involved. Archiving is predominantly functional driven.
