Hi Techies,
Can i upgrade the support Package stack from SPS04 to SPS08 in Solution Manager using SOLMANUP
Regards, Sandeep Singh
Hi Sandeep,
You can use SUM to upgrade solman patches from SPS04 to SPS08.
Since SAP is itself focusing on SUM tool a lot , so in case you face error SAP will be more active to resolve your issue.(my thinking... may be wrong).
In SUM SP08 , there is an alerting concept which they have come up with , you can try as well to learn that.

Hi Sandeep,
Solmanup is used for Release upgrade and not for patch upgrade.
For patch application you can use SPAM
Hope this helps.

Hi Deepak,
Just want to make myself clear on this one,
I though we can use solmanup to apply patches in solution manager system and which can be done using the SUM tool (sum tool tools replaces all other update and upgrade tools - SAPehpi, SAPup, SAPJup, JSPM, CEupdateManager,SolManUp)
could you please check this blog and share your thoughts

Hi Sandeep,
Use SUM tool to upgrade your support stacks, which is more efficient compared to SOLMANUP.
