I need that my sales documents search the BOM created for LUMF materials without checking the plant, thereby allowing me to create plant-independant BOM's. Is that possible? How?
If you have a lot of plants, so, you need a lot of BOM for the same material, you can create BOM as a copy, and there is a mass maintenance transaction for BOM: transaction CS20.
Based on the fact that the BOM's in my requirement are not divison dependent, what I really need is to maintain the BOM's leaving the division empty at the header level , and force the SD documents to search for this version instead of versions created with division.
The fact that the division field is not mandatory makes me believe that this could be possible.
Then I don't know, but try it (create BOM without plant) and check if the BOM is exploded during the SO item creation. As you will have trouble probably, please, use SAP Note 454937 - Explanation of the BOM explosion, and related notes as a checklist.
