Freight Order - Shipment Integration

Former Member

Dear Experts,

Shipment is not getting created in ECC.

When I click on  Create / Update ERP Shipment button in TM, I am getting a message "Freight order or freight booking not sent to ERP ".

But, shipment got created in ERP for a different source location, but with same product and customer...

Any hints on what is missing? Appreciate your response.

regards,

Shashiidhar

Absolutely Correct Eduardo

That's the next logical step.

Assignment to FO type for Output management and relevancy for Shipment. Also the correct Status of FOs for Shipment creation.

And if all of these settings are made then one should look for relationship requirements:

  • FO Should be related to ONLY (DTRs) Delivery Based Transportation Requirements
  • FO contains all freight units (FUs) from each related DTR ( Contain complete Deliveries)
  • FO must contain FUs that are derived from Outbound Deliveries exclusively ( or Inbound Deliveries exclusively)
  • FO contains FUs that are related to deliveries from the same ERP system

These are additional prerequisite for shipment creation in ECC.

Shashidhar,

One thing  intrigues me, how did a shipment get created in ECC with different source location.

Are you sure that the shipment created was by SAP TM.

Did you check the inbound XML message in ECC inbound?

...complementing...if you have checked the FO relevant for Tendering so a Carrier must be assigned to the document.

Hi Shet

Please consider the requirements below:

  • You have assigned an output profile to the FO type or FB type, and you have defined that the FO type or FB type is relevant for shipment creation.

For more information, see Customizing for Transportation Management under Freight Order Management -> Freight Order -> Define Freight Order Types or Freight Order Management -> Freight Booking -> Define Freight Booking Types.
  • The FO or FB is in process and does not have one of the following statuses:
    • Blocked for execution
    • Blocked for planning
    • Marked for deletion

Do you have the delivery number created on ECC in your FO (document flow)?

I guess you might have figured it out by now. Nonetheless, if there was a larger audience who required a ready reference point, this discussion and further participation would help.

Shipment integration is a bit different from the Order / Delivery integration.

Reason being:

SAP IDocs in SAP ECC are mapped to enterprise services in SAP TM. Process Integration (PI) is used to map the IDocs in SAP ERP to the enterprise services in SAP TM

SAP TM sends a new or updated freight order to SAP ERP using the enterprise service Request Transportation Order Execution :- 'TransportationOrderSCMExecutionRequest_Out'

In above case, we are dealing with Outbound Shipment integration.

Please refer:

Basic Settings and Integration for SAP ERP -> Outbound Integration of ERP Shipments Pg 100 - 150

If you have done all the settings and still getting issues, please highlight those.
