SAP PI 7.31 - Stop Alert Email and only log it.

Hi Experts,

I have a scenario in which I have to stop the Alert Email trigger from SAP PI and only log it in table SALRT.

Earlier, the email doesn't used to go out from PI system and it only logged in the table SALRT.

After a bug-fix by BASIS Team, it started triggering Alert emails which it was not suppose to do.

Any help in this regard would be really helpful to me.

Are you using dual stack and configured classical alerts..

if yes then don't assign the receivers for the alert categories created...or dont enable smtp option for hte alerts...

Hi Rajesh,

We are on dual stack currently and we are configuring alerts using ALRTCATDEF transaction.

When you say "don't assign receivers", are you referring to "fixed reciepients" maintained in ALRTCATDEF ?

Hi,

Either don't assign the fixed recipients or go to Alert subscription (Tcode: don't remember) and disable the subscription by email un check the mail option so that you will have alerts only in inbox and will be sent via emails...
