The Integration Server comes with some <b>built in adapters</b>
but most adapters are additional components.
which are those built in adapters

Anil,
Very simple. Just open Integration Directory. Create a new Communication channel. For the option Adapter Type, use F4 help, you will get a list of adapter types.
These are the adapters shipped with XI installation by default.

The built in adapters are IDOC and HTTP.
All remaining adapters need adpater engine for processing......

Hi Anil,
IDoc and HTTP adapter resides directly on the Integration Server (ABAP Stack).
Other adapters resides on the Adapte Engine (Java Stack).
