In a Production Order a purchased component reserves stock automatically when you save the Production Order.
Is there any way when creating a sales order to make the automatic reservation happen for a Purchased Part.
So I put on a Sales Order for a purchased part for a Qty fo 10. There is 10 in stock. So when I save and look at MMBE I can see in the reserved column 10 ea reserved?
I dont want to manually reserve through MB1B I want it to act exactly like a reservation for a Production Order and reserve stock?
Hello Milton,
Its a very standard functionality in SAP and bound to work.
Kindly check the total config again.

Hi,
in transaction code OVZ9 check whether INCLUDE RESERVATIONS is checked or not
as far as I know, reservation created for service order will be created but it will not block, it can be used whenever there is requirement for other sales order

Hello Milton,
Hope you have done the config settings for the "controls of Availability check" in Basic functions there you tick the "Include sales Requirement" and use the same same control for the purchased component material master.
It will solve your problem.

Hi,
To my knowledge, material level mapping / reservation / allocation is possible in a MTO scenario. In your case, being a purchase part the provurement type would be Direct Purchase and hence not possible.
