Hi Shamir
Matching Mode plays quiet a vital role in de-duplication process for SAP MDM. On the basis of matching scores, we can find whether the records are dupliacte or not. If so, we can merge the duplicate record so that the repository will contain no duplicates.
So,to perform all those necessary operations SAP MDM leverages us with entirely different mode named as matching. In which we can create our own rules and strategies to found the duplicates.
Steps which require to be followed:-
1. Create transformation.
2. Create Rule
3. Create and run the Strategy(including the rule, created above)
You can define the success and failure score as well as different thresholds to identify the duplicates.
later on you can merge the dupliactes through Merge tab in matching mode itself.
Hope it helps.
Please let me know if you need any other information.
Thanks!!

Hello,
Matching in Data manager used to identify the duplicate records in the repository.
This needs to be performed on a seperate mode called Matching Mode that we have an option in DM.
Once the data loaded into Reository in order to identfy the duplicates we use this mode.
we have to perform the following steps.
Tranformation- In order to remove some ambiguos data.
Rules- where wedefine scores to perform the matching for a perticuler field.
Strategies- Here we set threshold levels for a defined rules, based on which we can define identify the duplicates.
In SP10 we have a new addtion whichs says Required fields---which can be used as a base on which we can perfor the Matching.
later go for Merge tab and Merge according the requirement and remove duplicates.
hope it helps...

Girish
