RFC connection test hangs forever in PI

Dear Experts,

Recently we came across an issue where certain RFCs not responding but while doing "connection test" those hang indefinitely without throwing any error. Its a QA system for PI and we haven't done any recent changes.

Below is the information of system environment:

SAP PI 7.0 SPS 20

OS: Windows 2008 Enterprise Server

DB: MS SQL 2008 R2

Problem we face while executing 'SLDCHECK' and the same while doing connection test for below RFCs:

AI_DIRECTORY_JCOSERVER

AI_RUNTIME_JCOSERVER

LCRSAPRFC

SAPSLDAPI

After a restart of SAP instance or JAVA instance only also it gets fixed for some time, while trying to find any solution on SCN or Google found the thread https://scn.sap.com/thread/335233 but of no help.

Please if someone can help on the issue.

Thanks in advance,

SUJIT

Dear all,

Thank you for replying, let me check with the suggestion forwarded and will let you know further.

Many thanks,

SUJIT

Update : Problem is solved by following the solution provided in SAP Note 1791529.

Had to set below parameters in the instance profile:

gw/reg_keepalive = 0

gw/keepalive = 0

Hello Sujit,

Please uninstall the anti virus software, take the reboot of the server and test the RFC's.

This will help you

Hi Sujit,

It could be due to hanged JCo Connections. Try below and see if it helps you.

1. Check and test all the JCO connections

2.Check the below notes too

581509 - Reasons for "timeout during allocate"

566566 - Timeout during allocate, syslog R49 CPICRC 027 SAPRC 456

3.Check the below link and set the gatway parameters

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/EN/78/20244134a56532e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm

set the gateway parameters:
gw/max_conn 2000
gw/max_sys 1200

4. Check the below Note

1522463 Hanging RFC connections to JCo RFC servers in AS JAVA

5.If above doesnt work, plan for latest SP Upgrade for ABAP and JAVA, which will surely resolve your issue.

Please do reach us if the above all doesnt help.

All the Best..

Best Regards

Hi,

Can you please post the default trace when the error occurs.

  1. Check if parameter "gw/reg_no_conn_info" is configured in the system.
  2. If yes, ensure that the files reg_info and sec_info are set up correctly, as described in SAP Note 1408081  Basic settings for reg_info and sec_info.

Thanks

Hi Sujit,

Please check sm21 log and work process trace after doing the connection test.

Are the other RFC working fine?

check gateway trace as well.
