EHP6 upgrade error,PREP_INPUT/KX_CPYCHK.

Dear All,

      While upgrading from EHP4 to EHP6 i got a error as below:

"No suitable SAP KERNEL archive for platform WINDOWS_X86_64 was found in the download directory although the new sap kernel software component is requested at stack configuration file"

Hi all,

i have the same Problem while upgrading from EHP6 to EHP7:

EHP7 is NW74 based.

You need to download NetWeaver 7.40 Kernel.

Look at your stack.xml to see which filename is expected.

I download the Files as expected in XML File but it doesn´t work.

Same Error Message - whats wrong?

Don't know.

There definitely is an error message with details in any of the log-files (sort by date cheanged)

Maybe the person who created the stack-xml also included other kernel-files into it. look for other occurences of SAPEXE in the stack.xml

maybe any other kernel-related files are incorrect (e.g. igsexe)

Maybe start (SUM) all over again (Reset)?

btw, you can also download newer kernel files to the stack-directory than mentioned in stack.xml

you´re right. I´ve found another one in the Stack xml. unfortunaly it doesn´t work yet.

I ´ll check the Logs. (May i build a new stack.xml - it seems easier to me)

Hi Ish,

What is your existing Kernel level and please send us the kernel file level which you have downloaded as per the MOPZ.

For EHP6, you can use any of these below kernels

SAP KERNEL 7.20 EXT 64-BIT

SAP KERNEL 7.20 EXT 64-BIT UC  

SAP KERNEL 7.21 EXT 64-BIT

SAP KERNEL 7.21 EXT 64-BIT UC

Please ensure you are using latest SUM tool and also please check which kernel you have selected .?

Hi,

Can you please inform that what is the current kernel you are at and what is the target in the stack file that you created for the upgrade.

If your system is unicode and you have selected unicode kernel while creating the file.
