Former Member

Hi,

The As attached, the Status of the "Status propagated from Technical Instance", "Status propagated from Database", "Status propagated from Host" are always in red status.

I am not able to figure out where does the data come from for these or which Metric is responsible.

Any help could be useful

Thanks,

Regards,

Kaustubh.

Hi,

Please perform the below mentioned steps.

After following the below now you see the Availability status is shown correctly, please apply the same with other managed systems as well :

1. On the Template Maintenance step, select the "Technical System"

managed object type.

2. Ensure you are in Expert Mode.

3. Select the tab "Propagation Rules".

4. Deselect "Receive propagated Rating" check boxfor all the categories

on the Database and Technical instance table.

5. Save the changes made.

Rerun the auto configuration for all the managed objects for the changes

made to be effective during the run time.

Amruth.

Hi,

Red is quite fine is it, you need to check in alert box for alerts causing red status.

If its grey then you can assume some wrong in data collection and look for troubleshooting. Basically DB and Host information collected by outside dicovery process, please follow the guides attached in the blog

Then you can get the various places to troubleshoot and take action against red alerts

Please check.

Thanks

Hi,

For the Technical Instance the red status is propagated from the Host availability.

Could you open the Database and Host nodes and send a screenshot.

Cheers.

Hi Jose,

Regret the delay in reply, but SAP has suggested to implement the SAP note 1365796.

This might solve the issue I am having with the Host & DB Availability.

Dear Kaustubh

Sorry for replying too late.

Please implement note number

a. 1916237 :ABAP Central Services not available"  alert in Technical Monitoring

b. 1926321 "Oracle Data not Available" alert in Technical Monitoring

Thanks and regards

Hi Kaustubh,

The statusses you mention are all "general overview" statusses.

Status propagated from Technical Instance, if one of your metrics under TI is red, the overall status will be red. Same goes for DB and Host.

Hope this clarifies a bit.

Hi Kroone,

I understand that the parent MTE is in Red status if any of the child MTE's are in error.

Having said that if you consider the "Availability" section under the first Node "Technical System ABAP" in the screen shot above, you will see that the ABAP System Availability is in green --> which includes

  • ABAP Message Server Status
  • ABAP Message Server HTTP Availability
  • ABAP System Remote RFC Availability

The remaining two under the same Node "Availability" are

  • Status propagated from technical Instance
  • Status propagated from Database

These two above are permanently in Red. Also, I could not find any Metrics for the above from the Technical Monitoring template. So, where is this data collected from ?

I do not have any other errors in outside discovery.

Regards,

Kaustubh.
