How to Remove LiveCache Data files

Hi,

We had an emergency over the weekend, where massive processing was taking plave in the SCM system and we had to allocate an additional 300GB to the LiveCache database.

Now that the processing is complete the LiveCache database is running a 5% Capacity.

How can we reclaim the 6 x 50Gb Datafiles we added.

We obtained the space from the storage team on the understanding that it was temporary.

Hi

the link below did help, but it was a bit old. I have now discovered it is easy to remove a volume using the SAP MaxDB Database Studio -> Administration -> Data area Tab

Right click the volume you want to delete and select Delete. You will be prompted to confirm deletion and informed that the data will be distributed into the remaining volumes.
