how to create multiple copies of maxdb DATA backup on the same directory using device type "FILE" ?

My question is related to create more than one copy (for example 5 copies ) of full data backup on the same directory without using overwrite ?

normally we can schedule the backup and we have that  option to overwrite if we did not select that option the backup will not success because the file name exist in the directory , and if we select overwrite it means you have latest copy but always one copy

Hi Ahmed,

Process to create multiple copies will remain the same. You just need to change rename the existing backup file before starting the next backup run.

There is no automated process for this.

Hi Ahmed,

You could also define multiple backup definitions for a number of backups with different file names and select overwrite. For example you could make a full backup definition for every day of the week and then just call the correct backup definition on each day.
