We are running Excel 2010 & SAP GUI 7.20. When I use the Excel Inplace view for reports, I find that the menu bar disappears from the Excel portion of the window anytime I switch to another application, even a different SAP or Excel window. I have seen several threads on the forum describing this very same behavior with Excel 2007 (a couple are linked below), but none with Excel 2010. One of the threads even mentions a Microsoft Hotfix for Excel 2007 that supposedly corrected the problem. Just for grins, I tried applying the Hotfix to see if it would solve my problem, but it won't even install since I don't have Excel 2007. Has anyone else seen this problem with Excel 2010, and does anyone know of a solution?
Thanks in advance!
-Joe

Hello Joe,
Refer to the note below for the workaround.

Best Regards,
Jude.
PS.As Sriram pointed out, SAPGUI 7.20 is out of support, so install 7.30 which is the only supported version at this point.
Also note that only 32bit version of Office 2010 is supported with SAPGUI, as SAPGUI is still a 32bit application.

Hello Joe.
The note states simply,
As a workaround, place the essential menu items in Microsoft Quick Access
Toolbar.

There is a video file I've attached from the note.
Best Regards.

Jude,
Thank you again for the quick reply. Unfortunately, this doesn't really help me. When I say that the menu bar disappears, this includes the Quick Access Toolbar (As a side note, I have used the workaround you mentioned for items I need from the File tab, which always seems to be inaccessible in Excel Inplace view). The only thing that is left after the menu bar disappears is the bar to enter formulas on.
Thanks
-Joe
Hi Joe
What is the SAPGUI 7.20 patch level? or Update the latest patch on SAPGUI 7.20, Since the SAPGUI 7.20 end of support better you can upgrade the latest version of GUI 7.30 with patch level 6
Thanks
Ram
