Dear  Experts,

We are having 2 nodes for PRD i.e. CI & DB… Profiles in CI are:-

START_ASCS01_XYZ (virtual name)

START_ASCS01_ABC(physical name)

PRD_ASCS01_ XYZ (virtual name)

PRD_ASCS01_ ABC(physical name)

PRD_DVEBMGS00_ XYZ (virtual name)

PRD_DVEBMGS00_ ABC(physical name)

START_DVEBMGS00_ XYZ (virtual name)

START_DVEBMGS00_ ABC(physical name)

Default.pfl.

Now, We have  clubbed file system of CI & DB on single server(means on new host name), We have taken below profiles in new host and only Changed SAPLOCALHOST value to <new host name>

START_ASCS01_ABC(physical name)

PRD_ASCS01_ ABC(physical name)

PRD_DVEBMGS00_ ABC(physical name)

START_DVEBMGS00_ ABC(physical name)

Default.pfl.

Now, To start system new system :-

a) Database started manually. It’s ok.

b) To start message & enque instance:-

startsap pf=/usr/sap/PRD/SYS/profile/START_ASCS01_ABC

Getting below error:

startsap pf=/usr/sap/PRD/SYS/profile/START_ASCS01_ABC

Hello Sumit,
1.check the permissions of the file usr/sap/sys/profile.
Check that the sap user has full control(administrator rights)
2. make sure that you have mentioned the new host name in the file HOSTS under drivers>>etc.
RUN>>DRIVERS>>ETC>>HOSTS
3.Make sure that you have mentioned the new host name in start profile.
SAPSYSTEM NAME
SAPGLOBALHOST
Hope this helps.

There you go sumit.

/usr/sap/PRD/ASCS01/exe/sapstart=>sapparam: SAPSYSTEMNAME neither in Profile nor in Commandline

**** unknown SAPSYSTEMNAME.

(29859) Exiting with Return-Code -101. (Unknown Sap-System-Name)

Startup of Instance failed

please verify and correct the SAPSYSTEMNAME parameter in your instance, default and startup profile.

SAPSYSTEMNAME = your SID

SAPGLOBALHOST = your HOSTNAME. (you have already mentioned this right)
