EHP6 Upgrade Using SUM - SUBST_CHECK_BATCHJOB

Hi there,

I have started an EHP 6 upgrade on our sandpit system.

The stage reaches the RSUPDTEC in the extraction process and then seems to

just hang.

In the log there is a recurring entry of:

2 ETQ399 'SUBST_CHECK_BATCHJOB' for JOBNAME='RSUPDTEC' JOBCOUNT='10192300' returns 'S'.

Any ideas anyone?

Hello

It looks like the job is scheduled status.

Connect to the SAP system where the job is supposed to be running.

Tx SM37 - Enter the job name - Do a check status of the job.

Also check the executing server of the job.

Check the work process trace file of the job at the OS level.

There will be a tmp sub directory present in the upgrade directory. Check whether the logs are getting updated here.

Hi mate,

Just done what you suggested.

There is a released job RSUPDTEC with 10,229 showing in the delay column.

How can I get this to activate??

Hello

When you perform a "Check Status" of the job from Tx SM37 what happens ?

You should get a text message at the bottom of the SAP GUI

Could you check the planned start date and also start conditions of the job.

Secondly are there free background processes available ?

Try to change the status of the job from released to scheduled status.

Then release the job and select the option "immediate"
