What roles to given for a tester or test coordinator

Hello Colleague,

What are the different he roles/authorization objects that needs to be assigned for a tester and Test coordinator/test manager to access the test workbench to perform manaul test execution.

SAP_SOL_TESTER_COMP this composite role is sufficient for tester but remember this is as per your requirements need to be checked

for e.g if you don't want them to access solar02 or solar01(display) then you need to remove single role from it accordingly.

so copy and create a Z* role as per requirements and assign to users

Note this also includes workcenter roles

Hello All,

I feel the below assignment would be sufficient:

Tester:

• Copy composite SAP_SOL_TESTER_COMP role into Z role
• Assign this Z role to tester
• This role has authorization for creation of Service desk message (defect reporting)  - SAP_SUPPDESK_CREATE
• So create Z copy of SAP_SUPPDESK_CREATE role and assign the same to the Tester

Test Coordinator:

• Copy SAP_SOL_AC_COMProle into Z role
• Assign this Z role to tester.  This composite role has all authorization

Please let me know if you think otherwise.

Cordinator:

SAP_BC_CAT_TESTORGANIZER

SAP_CM_MANAGED_TESTER

Manager:

SAP_CM_SMAN_TESTER

SAP_CM_TESTER_COMP

Are these old roles ?

I am talking about Solution Manager 7.1 .

Tester should access only STWB_WORK they should have only execution of test case, defect reporting. They shouldnot have access to Project creation SOLAR01, SOLAR02 , STWB_2 etc.

Test Coordinator should have authorization to all of these.

Please let me know the latest roles.

I was thinking for tester SAP_STWB_WORK_ALL is the role.

Hi,

As per the SolMan 7.1 Security Authorization guide:

Tester has Composite Role SAP_SOL_TESTER_COMP

Test Organizer/Project Manager Composite Role SAP_SOL_PM_COMP

Test Organizer/Application Consultant Composite Role SAP_SOL_AC_COMP

Hello Srikishan,

Thanks for the information. I had a look into the composite role SAP_SOL_TESTER_COMP and found that creation of defects - Service desk messages required role is not not part of this role SAP_SOL_TESTER_COMP.

But the tester needs to be reporting defects aswell. Please let me know if this role needs to be added individually by creating the z of it.

Hi Ajay,

Yes, as mentioned by Prakhar also - create a custom Z role as a copy of this composite role and then you could maintain it as per your requirements.

Also it's always advisable to create copy of standard SAP roles and then use them.
