LQ01 posting issue for a strorage type with capcity check 4

Hello WM Gurus,

My storage type C01 is having capacity method 4.

The stock is  received in this storage type with some Transfer order from storage location A001. 

storage location control is defined as   CN1(WH)  CO1(Sttype) B713(plant) A0002(Rec Sloc) 311(mvt)

When I try to do transfer posting using LQ01 for the quant in C01 belonging to B713+A001 to --> A002,Slocation, I get below error.

Storage type C01 is not suitable as an interface because of capacity check

    Message no. L9041

Diagnosis

    A capacity check is defined for the storage type to which the interim
    storage posting is to be made that does not allow the posting. In the
    interim storage areas, only the following capacity checks are made:

    1.  Capacity check according to weight

    2.  Capacity check based on the palletization according to SUT 1

    3.  Capacity check based upon the maximum quantity for each storage type
        are defined.

Procedure

    You must either change the capacity check for this storage type or make
    sure that another storage type is found as interim storage during the
    interim storage type search from inventory management

I am not understanding what to do exactly. I cannot remove capacity usage indicator for the storage type C01.

Expert advice needed.

the procedure in the help text gives you actually an alternative.

I believe that C01 is a storage type for physical stock, hence it can have a capacity check.

but transfer postings in WM are usually done via interim storage types like 922 Posting Change Area

And this is what the message actually says, it has identified your C01 as interim storage type, and an interim storage type cannot have a capacity check as it is only a logical storage type, just needed for technical reasons.

in a normal quality transfer posting from Q to unrestricted you see:

a postive quant for unrestricted stock in a physical storage type

a negative quant  for Q stock in a physical storage type

a postive quant for Q stock in the interim storage type

a negative quant for unrestricted stock in interim storage type.

And when you confirm the transfer posting, then the Q quant and the 2 quants in interim storage bin are gone and you only have your unrestricted use quant in the physical storage type.

I think you have entered you C01 as interim storage type in Define Movement Types customizing

Hi Jurgen, thanks for the reply. But, actually, by SAP standard, LQ01 is not allowed for the storage types with capacity method 4 5 and 6.  Its designed in this way in the standard code. May be some genuine reason. I was dealing with Sloc to Sloc tranfers.. In my case, I have to do MB1B 311 to get the desired effect.
