Hi friends
Our company want install Enterprise Portal, a new installation on new server. The installation guide says you download the software with the mopz in the solution manager, but being a new environment does not automatically calculate what is needed according to the scenario we have chosen.
can you help me?
thanks,
Erika
Hi Erika,
Based on the selection of usage types, Solman may decided the baseline stack level for the installation.
Post this while performing patching it will consider this baseline stack to calculate the target stack level.

Hi Erika,
Please follow what Srinivasan has mentioned, while proceeding with the installation make sure you select all the usage types that you require.
You need to think about Solution Manager only when you have completed the installation of the Portal System. Once you complete the Installation you have to add your system to Solution Manager and with the help of Maintenance optimizer you could calculate the support package queue required for your system ( Depending on the Usage types you have selected).
Hope this answers your query
Thanks and Regards

Hi Erika,
If you are planning to install a new portal system, then you can download the installation package directly from SAP Service Market Place. After selecting the installation packages from the market place to the download basket, you need to approve the same using MOPZ.

For a new system installation, you need to download the installation software from http://service.sap.com/swdc. The only time you would/could use MOPZ would be to install a new portal into an existing Netweaver Java system.
