Hi expert,
there is a data federation function when define data foundation layer for multisource base. but when we use data federation feature which you can not implement in native data foundation features?
Many Thanks,
Andy
Andy,
If you are federating data, then it has to fit into a more generic form.
What you may want to do, for example, is prepare views in Oracle or SQL Server to present the data for federation rather than trying to achieve something at the federation layer. It's not just the IDT - I've faced this issue in another federation tool, so don't think of it as a negative for the IDT, more just a reality that you can't federate data and pick and choose which DBMS-specific code you'll use in the IDT.
What in particular are you trying to achieve?
