SAP GUI not connecting to SAP Server

Hello friends,

I have installed GUI on my desktop, after I entered server name, system ID and select next, the SAP GUI is not able to connect to SAP Server, it displays a message "The instances number is missing and custom application server cannot be connected". I gave the instance as 99 but still the error is coming up.

Help will be appreciated.

Hi Gary

Instance number 99 used for SAP Router. I thing you have to check the you SAP Instance number.

Hi Gary,

Usually the instance numbers would be

central instance 00

application server instance 01-98

like sriram said router instance 99

try to put 00 and try. it must be working else just try 01-04..
