Alert mail not triggering in SAP PI

Hi Gurus,

I have set alert rules in SAP PI...wenever I am getting error in sxmb_moni it should trigger an alert mail but in my scenarios it is not triggering alert.

Here are steps which I followed -

ALRTCATDEF - Gave fixed receipent as my name (Email id maintend in SU01)

Subject line, short text, long text all greeen.... Container values are as follows -

RWB - Alert Rule defined here -

I tested this by running standard report "RSALERTTEST"...it gave me dummy alert mail in ALERTINBOX and my official email id both...

For testing it runtime..I created wrong RFC destination in SM59 of PI system..coz of this I got message failure in SXMB_MONI as follows...

I did not get any alert mail in ALERTINBOX or in my outlook...

Please someone help me getting these alert rules corrected... URGENT!!!!

Are you using component based message alerting system?

In that case, you might be missing few steps which pushes your alerts email to final recipients. Please check out my blog for more details.

Dear Ambuj,

Even after following steps provided in the URL , i am getting same error i.e., Local CBMA engine inactive: no alert rules found .

Job was scheduled and job running successfully. Found few errors in SXI_MONITOR and also same error.

Please help.

Just to add in my original message...we have SOLMAN in our landscape..... Do i need to add something in SOLMAN....M i missing something in Configuration part??

Hi Rashmi,

I am also facing same problem in PI 7.31 dual stack.

My alert category and alert rule all are correct even then i am not getting alerts in mail box .

But actually i checked in SE38 > SXMSALERT_LOGREADER > " Local CBMA engine inactive: no alet rules found ".

Even if ur getting same error , kindly check.

If you maintain No Restrictions in Alert Rule, are you getting Alert email?

I tried with No Restrictions in Alert Rule but still it didn't work for me...no alert mail triggered...

Hi,

what is your pi system version?

can you check SXMSALERT_LOGREADER report any alerts are created?

check the tcode st22 for any dumb.

in fixed recipients you have given name which should be your user id means log on username.

It is PI7.31 dual stack.

I could not see anything triggered via SXMSALERT_LOGREADER....

i checked st22 --> no dump by user PIRWBUSER....

Strange thing is that i got dummy test mail on my id by running report RSALRTTEST.. then y dint i got mail wen actually i got failure in SXMB_MONI
