Hi Rajith

This is the best one for SAP PP:

http://www.sap-press.com/products/Production-Planning-and-Control-with-SAP.html

This is also a good one if you want to learn the production planning process itself (not SAP related):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Goal_(novel)

However, you can find a lot of frree documentation on SAP help, on wikis, documents and blogs posts from this forum. See some links below:

TADM10* docs are actually textbooks for the TADM10 courses that used to be offered by SAP.  These are copywrited documents, and are only legally available if you take the underlying SAP course.  Of course, I presume that you would never knowingly possess copywrited materials for which you do not legally have the rights.  FYI, SCN and SAP take copywrite infringement very seriously.

SAP offers many courses for PP, and if you take such courses, SAP will commonly make a copy of the textbooks legally available to you.  Here are a few that you might find interesting:

SCM240

SCM310

TSCM40

TSCM42

Hi Caetano

Please note that I tried to see the book in the below link....

http://www.sap-press.com/products/Production-Planning-and-Control-with-SAP.html

But that link does not exist and reason may be shifting of SAP Press website. So can you please share with me the new link ?

Also is there any book available specifically for PP-PI...that's my weak point as I have not worked much on that. So any input will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Akhtar,

Do you know if there is a Portuguese (Brazil) reprint of your book ? I`m from Brazil and I would like buy your book to develop my knowledge in SAP and Production Planning Control. The company I`m working implemented SAP one year ago and since that time I`ve started working as BA (Business Analyst), but I would like become more expert in PPC area, so I heard good comments about your book. Do you know if SAP Press Website can deliver this book to Brazil ?

I appreciate your tips and comments,

Thank you,

Eric,

While you are waiting for expert Jawad to respond, you could consider taking a look at one of the old online help documents.  SAP once produced their help docs in Portuguese, but I don't see much evidence any more that they still do.  Try

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_46c/helpdata/pt/e1/8e51341a06084de10000009b38f83b/frameset.htm

Although the above doc is over 13 years old, the basics of PP haven't changed much since 2001.

Also, you could look at SAP's Best Practices localized for Brasil.

Hi Dogboy,

I cheched the web pages in Portuguese on the link you mentioned but the information is not exactly what I need. I need docs (book) that can give me, first, a begin information about PCC (Production Planning Control) at SAP, with practical examples, tips, etc. and next, an good material with deep information with best practices and how to improve the PCC.

Anyway, I asked for Portuguese material but English not really a barrier for me. I guess I can use my English for studying SAP documentation (books, articles, etc) w/out problems. Thank you for sent me the link with the material in Portuguese. So, now lets see if Akhtar has any information if he has also reprint his book in Portuguese or not.

I appreciate your help,

Thank you,

Hello Eric,

Happy Holidays to you and to everyone else!

First of all, I am very sorry for coming back so late to address your query. I have been extremely very busy in completing my next book for SAP PRESS, which is Quality Management with SAP.

To address your query on my Production Planning book, I suggest that you go for e-book version! Not only is the e-book relatively cheaper and available in several popular formats, but is also instantly available. And, if you buy it in the next few days, you'll get 20% discount.

If you still want to buy the hard copy, the shipment charges by SAP PRESS are just exorbitant! Its costs $40.00 to ship a book to South America, with the book becoming available after 2-3 weeks!

If you wish to read the entire Table of content and free reading sample (before you purchase it), then it is available via this link: http://bit.ly/PPERP100

Eric, I did indeed checked to see if the book is available with Amazon Brazil, but unfortunately it isn't! Also, at this time only Indian Reprint is available to provide cost benefits to readers of South Asia. However, I would LOVE to see the PP book not only available in Brazil but also in the entire South America, and not just in English but in many languages!

I hope the above details help you. I have also hope that my desire to help you has not breached any SCN's policy of being "promotional" or "Salesy" about the book!

I wish you and everyone else all the very best, and and best wishes for a successful Year 2015!

I'll be happy to address any query related to PP in general and my book in particular! One of my goals of Year 2015 is to proactively participate, contribute and pay it forward to the wonderful SCN community!

@ Dogboy 49: Many, many thanks for your willingness to help with Eric's query.
