We are using standard customer, material, vendor repository and also a custom repository in our landscape and we have around 200 PI channels for MDM and 400 in total. PI channel monitoring not able to open the PI channels. We suspect it is do with MDM channels. We see the MDM-PI channels are actively connected always through MDM-PI Adapter.
MDM experts, Have you faced these issue?
Hi Subin,
First check whether the record processing by PI works properly. This can be checked in ready folder of the MDM ports. If the records are being processed from ready folders and are placed in Archive folders, then MDM PI adapter is working fine. If this is working try restarting the PI adapter engine once.
If the records are not processed in ready folder restart MDIS or MDSS accordingly and check.
Reply with your result.
Kind Regards,

Hi Subin,
Very Interesting indeed.
Well if you switch to file adapter that would not maintain synchronous connection with MDM.
First of all I would say try to isolate the pain area.Search for area where the issue is arising.
You can look at MDS performance when the channels get locked.
The more write locks, more load on MDS the more the channels can create this problem.
Also, try to find the time taken by PI in processing messages at different times of load on PI and MDM.
Thanks,
Ravi
Hi Subin,
Yes you can schedule few channels and this can be helpful. However during business hours and peak load this would not help much.If MDS is busy the java connection would be waiting for the write lock to be free and hence performance issue would come up.
Kindly also look at removal of frequent write locks on data or make the time duration of lock very small by optimizating MDS performance.
Thanks,
Ravi
