Hello Gurus,
In our Group we have a Subsidiary (Company Code) with an external outsourcing Warehouse (set as Plant) but now for a logistic decision
this Plant will be moved inside the Subsidiary with a Storage Location funtion.
Wich is the best practice to challenge this Change (from Plant reduce to Storage Location)?
Many thanks in advance
Alberto
(from Plant reduce to Storage Location)
My preference would be create a new storage location and lock the existing plant. By doing so, you can not only carry out new activities with the new storage location and later on, any returns to this plant, you can again open the plant and take the inventory so that from financial part, this will be accounted properly.

Hi Alberto,
When you change a Plant to Sloc below are controls which I believe you will not get :
1) If you are loading Value of Freight or other Taxes on Stock value while Transferring Material by STO to receiving Plant, this will not be possible if it is STO.
2) You will not get stock valuation at SLoc level but you can get the same at Plant Level.
You can think about Stock Controlling at Plant level and Sloc level.

MJ
