Dear Gurus,

Need your inputs in understanding the Configuration Parameters below and essentially how these should be configured for the complete landscape:

1.

1.  Parameter 1022- Connector for which Object Ids may be maintained case sensitive – Not sure what is the objective for this parameter. I have three connectors in the complete landscape – one each for ECC DEV, QAS and PRD. Should these be maintained as under:

Se2. Parameter 1046- Extended objects enabled connector– Not sure what is the objective for this parameter. I have three connectors in the complete landscape – one each for ECC DEV, QAS and PRD. Should these be maintained as under:

Thanks

Ronnie

Hi Ronnie,

Parameter 1022 is intended for those systems where User IDs are case sensitive, where as parameter 1046 allows storage for object names(ex. roles, authorization objects, tcodes, fields) which exceed standard SAP defined field lengths.

Both these parameters are generally applicable to a Non-SAP system or to systems which do not conform to ABAP based Security.

In your case, since all are ECC (ABAP) systems, there is no need to set these parameters.

Hope this helps.

Amol

Hi,

You dont need to maintain all parameter given by SAP. Do maintain only what is required or mandatory as per your requirement.... rest you can just ignore....

parameter 1022....

On the

Risk Analysis screen you can perform risk analysis. You specify the system and the analysis criteria such as User, Risk Level, and so on. This parameter allows you to specify for which systems the information entered is case sensitive.

so if you maintain this parameter.

if you user id is XYZ then in risk analysis screen is should be XYZ ,not xyz.

you can add as many instance depends upon your requirment

Parameter:1046

Extended objects are objects from non-SAP systems. This parameter allows you to specify the connectors for non-SAP systems. The connectors can have object lengths greater than SAP objects. For example, SAP User ID length is 12, but the extended object length may be 50.

Note:

You can set multiple connectors by adding multiple instances of the parameter.

Ronnie,

You can find the full configuration parameter guide on the service marketplace.  Hopefully the link below will work for you.

The version available there will be based on the latest SP (i.e. SP13) but should still contain the info you are looking for.

Cheers,

John
