Work centers in QM typically are used for the following:

- logically break up testing into logical components

- collect costs

- control security, I.e. only authorized users can record against certain work centers

- provide integration to external systems such as LIMS

These are four that come to my mind.  I'm sure there are probably more but I think these are the most common for QM.

Dear,

As per the definition, a work center is where operations are performed.

A work center can be a machine, a group of workmen, or a single individual.

Inspection plan is nothing but a task list; it lists down the inspection operations that are to be sequentially performed to complete the inspection. The work center in an operation defines where that operation is going to be performed.
