Hi All,
I have gone through several fourms but i was not able to solve the issue.
I am mainting two alert categories one for IE errors and one for AE errors.
and two alert rules one for the IE and AE Errors.
There is no problem with the AE errors i.e., i am getting the mails to Alert inbox for the AE errors.
Container varaibles for the IE and AE are maintained same as shown in below screen shot.
For the AE Alert Rule : i have maintained the paramerters as below
Alert rule created with no restrictions (Sender: * Receiver: *)
Where did error occur ? Adapter Engine
Suppress multiple alerts of this Rule : Not set
If there are any communication channel errors i am getting mails to the Alert inbox for AE errors
For the IE Alert Rule : i have maintained the paramerters as below
Alert rule created with no restrictions (Sender: * Receiver: *)
Where did error occur ? Integration Engine
Suppress multiple alerts of this Rule : Not set
But for the IE Errors i am not getting mails to the Alert inbox.
if i execute the report RSALERTTEST i am getting the alert to my inbox for the IE alert category.
and able to see the messages in the ALRTDISP when i trigger through RSALERTTEST ,
i have also checked the report for the logs SXMSALERT_LOGREADER but did not find any logs.
but if i test end to end i am not receiving the mails to my inbox and no messages getting displayed in ALRTDISP.
Kindly suggest where i am going wrong.
Thanks
Sai
Hi,
check this note 1090240 if it helps you.

There might be another global rule/rule already is in place with * sender and * receiver( which might be casuing not to execute your rule bu executing the preexisting alerts configured with *) so check all the rest of the rules if they also have similar generic settings, and also try to configure your alert with atleast namespace specifc and see how it works.

Hi Mastan,
I am maintaing two alert categories one for IE and one for AE , two alert rules one for IE and one AE.
In Short and Long text description there is a difference for IE and AE alert categories.
So i cannot keep No restriction.
I want to trigger mails for AE and IE errors Seperately.
Thanks
Sai
Hi Naveen,
>>Did you try enabling and disabling the suppress multiple alerts option and save the rule?
Yes, but no mail is getting generated.
If i change the IE Alert rule parameter :
Where did error occur ? No Restriction
Mail is getting triggered.
But if i choose
Where did error occur ? Integration Engine
Then mail is not getting triggered for the integration engine errors.
Thanks
Sai
Hi Sai,
Can u please let us know after selecting IE under Where did error occur, what is the error category ur selecting?
try selecting error category as * and error code *
else if u want only for mapping error alerts then select error category as Application and Error code as Mapping *.
Hope this info will resolve Ur issue.
Regards,
Mastan vali
