Issue with the connection to system GWP00001 client 500: Error when opening an RFC connection (CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPOCMINIT' : cmRc=20 thRc=497

Dear SAP Experts,

I am Using Solution Manager 7.1

Need to generate 4 RFCs for my ECC production for Solution monitoring and EWA.

I am facing an error while generating RFCs for a Product System.

The SID is GWP

The Extended SID is GWP00001

Production Client is 500.

I have tried to create SM_GWP00001CLNT500_READ manually in sm59 an assign it to the prodution client and Check RFCs but no help.

While trying to generate RFC Destination from LMDB the following error is occuring

Issue with the connection to system GWP00001 client 500: Error when opening an RFC connection (CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPOCMINIT' : cmRc=20 thRc=497 Unable to determine host address: ).

Attching the screen shot for you ref.

All the /etc/hosts and services are added with respective hostname and sapms<SID> in both the servers.Still facing the issue.

Please guide.I cannot setup the Solution Manager Functionality

Thanks in advance.

Asad

The needed RFCs are generated during the setup when you manage the system, under solman_setup.

Also I see no screenshot?

Why are you also trying to generate an RFC to a LMDB extended SID (GWP00001) vs using GWP?

Hi Billy,

The SID GWP00001 was autopopulated in LMDB when i pushed SLD data for GWP.

GWP is a production server installed on HA,where the SID for DB is GWP and SID for Application is GWP00001.I did not do anything manually.

I have checked the host and service file for both the servers

Do you have any firewalls or network restrictions in place?

What are the results if you ping each hostname from your computer?

What are the results if you ping from each server to one another using the hostnames?

What stack level of SolMan are you currently on?

Hi Billy,

Please find the ping response

Why does gwclsol = 13.33.1.75 from your computer instead of 10.33.1.75?

Also curious to ask, why does gwclprc reply to GWP, but not SolMan or your computer?

With SP09 not being GA, you may also have a unique problem...

Add gwclprc and its ip address to hosts file on gwclsol host.

Hi Consultant,

you should check in LMDB if the fully qualified hostname of the server is right.

If not you can change it by klicking on Details.

Before you can do this your user should have the parameter LMDB_AUTO_DS_OVRWRT=06 in TA SU1

best regards

Matthias

Hi  Asad,

I guess the issue is that the data has not been fetched properly to LMDB/SMSY. Delete the SID entries in SMSY,LMDB and in SLD too. Retrigger the data supplier through rz70(Ensure that all jobs are scheduled)

Thanks,

Karthik

>> Unable to determine host address

This error clearly says that hostname to address resolution does not work correctly. Please double check DNS/hosts name resolution. Also check this in txn SMGW Goto->Expert Functions->Host Name Buffer.
