SAP GUI 7.30 SP05 History Not Working

Hi there,

I have recently upgraded to SAP GUI 7.30 SP05 and the only problem I have found is that the immediate history is not working. It was previously working in 7.20, but since the upgrade it no longer works.

I am using Windows 7 Pro x64. I have tried to clear the history, but it still doesn't work. I have searched OSS notes but not found anything that has helped...

Note that I have already checked the following setting:

For some reason one of the screenshots did not come through in the original post, so here is the other setting that I checked:

hi David,

You just browse the Directory For Input History and rename/delete the SAPHistory.mdb file and reopen the SAP GUI. It will be work.

Please let me know if you get issue after above solution.

I tried to delete the SAPHistory.mdb file, and restart SAP GUI, but still not working... I have then tried to dissable and re-enable history, but the SAPHistory.mdb is not being recreated again...

hi David,

In most of cases the above solution works and I just got to know that SAP GUI 7.30 SP05 having some issue. So, Please uninstall it and try with GUI 7.30 SP04.

Thanks - I will try and uninstall and work with SP04 instead.

Note 199527 is however only relevant for 6.20.

Let's hope that SP06 fixes this issue...

Thanks for your post..... I was hell irritated with my history not showing up...even though on SP 6... cleared the cash, increased the validity, increased the file size......banged my head on the wall........ none worked.

Saw your post, Renamed

C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Roaming\SAP\SAP GUI\History\SAPHistoryxxxx.mdb

and it worked....system created a new .mdb file and all is normal as it was.

Ok I uninstalled SAP GUI 7.30 SP05 and installed 7.30 SP04 and it works now.

now. above issue also resolve after apply the SP06 because now Patch 06 is available.

Please use patch 6 hotfix 1 to address your issue.

Patch 4 is still available if you wish.

Hi Abdul & Jude,

I apply the patch but the history still don't work.

You need to delete the history database and the cache.

After this operation, it works !!

Hello Tatsuya,

Hotfix 1 for patch 6 is not available anymore,

You must either use patch 6 hotfix 2 or patch 7.

Once a hotfix has been upgraded. the previous hotfix for the same patch is not available anymore.

Delete the history file (remove from Recycle bin as well) and run the GUI. It will create new file at the specified folder in the GUI configuration. It will work after that.
