Reason for RFC Sender Adaptor Pull down the data.

Hi,

Technically i have one doubt. if you see sender file adaptor/jdbc adaptor able to pull down the fill/records. Why RFC Sender Adaptor not able to pull down the data. it is basically a remote function module.? What is reason behind.

That is because of the way it operates, the file or a jdbc sender channel is acting as a client requesting service from a file system/ftp server or a database server in case of a JDBC. IT achieves it by polling the server for any avaialble messages.

In the case of an RFC sender adapter, it basically is an RFC server. What happens when you activate an RFC adapter is that, it goes and registers itself as a RFC server on a particular SAP gateway that we have defined in the channel. Now all the sap systmes that can make use of this gateway can make RFC calls to the server we just registered.
