Early inspection lot.

Hi

I have used early inspection lot in material master qm view for inspection type 04.

When i release production order system creates one inspection lot and for same production order system creates other inspection lot at goods receipt.

Both lots for inspection type 04.

Material is seralised.

How to have one inspection lot in early inspection lot.?

If you read the help file for the 04 early inspection lot, (F1 while in the appropriate inspection type setup field in the material master), you will find that it explains this.

Under the dependencies section it specifically states that lot summary is not supported for serialized material and that new inspection lots will be created.

For inspection lots for goods movements

The lot summary does not take place, and new inspection lots are created when:

The batch is changed for materials subject to batch management,

Goods receipts are posted to different plants or storage locations,

A previously created inspection lot has already been completely credited from the stock,

Different special stocks are being posted,

A previously created inspection lot has been canceled.

The lot summary is not supported in the following instances:

The inspection lot manages serial numbers.

The inspection lot manages handling units.

The special case "Inspection lot for early inspection", does support the lot summary.

For inspection lot origin 01: There is a status profile in the quality information record, which has not yet been run completely.

Early Inspection lot will be not supported for serial number.

Reason is very logical.At which point serial numbers comes into picture.As per my understanding its during goods receipt and Early lot is created during the release of order,This is actually a differentiating factors for early created 04 lot & lot created after GR.

As per serial number profile, serial number must gets created before release of production order.

Still it will not support serial number as Early inspection lot created is not stock relevant when as its created at release of order.This is very much as per std SAP.

And as we have both said, SAP does not support the early lot creation for serialized products.

You will get the second lot.
