Hi all,

I just completely applying SP 5 to the current BO 4.0 SP2. I don't see MobileBIService.war and MOBIServer.war file in this folder.

C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\Tomcat6\webapps

I just see MobileBIService and MOBIServer folders but not the files.

When I search for this file , Here is the place I found.

C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\wdeploy\workdir\tomcat6\application

HI RUC,

From SP5 onwards the MobileBIService war files are automatically deployed under tomcat/webapps

Also, there is no Mobile configuration utility tool available anymore.

All requests are handled by the war file which is already deployed and ready to use.

You can straightaway connect your ipad to BO server using credentials like:

Sever URL: http://servername:8080

CMS: cmsname

administrator/password

Hi Ruc,

can you attach a screen of the connection details that you are using to connect your iphone to BO server.

Also, are you trying to connect it using VPN , reverse proxy servers?

can you access the tomcat page on your iphone, via safari browser

Hi RUC,

First you will have to check why is the tomcat page not accessible from safari.

are you in the same network as that of BO server?

your phone should have a ad-hoc or wifi connection to connect to your BO server or application server ( tomcat)

also, try to connect using ip address instead, if DNS is unable to resolve bodemo

http://bodemo:8080 should be first made accessible via iphone.

if this a server box installed at home or not in a company network, check proxy settings

Yes I am in same network , I can able to connect through my  laptop with remote desktop

your phone should have a ad-hoc or wifi connection to connect to your BO server or application server ( tomcat)

iphone is also in the same network. Laptop , iphone , server all are in the same network.

if this a server box installed at home or not in a company network, check proxy settings

Can you explain me in detail on how to connect ??

Please help me out as a new to mobile.

HI Ruc,

if you are able to access your server using your laptop, that is Remote connection.

that is good

but can you access the tomcat home page directly on your laptop browser.

not on the server machine ( via remote), but on the laptop browser.

open a IE or firefox on the laptop and type http://bodemo:8080 and check if tomcat home page comes up.

if that is working, get your iphone in the same subnet or network your laptop is

then it should work on iphone as well

Hi RUC.

you can take assistance of your network team to get it done.

we would not know, what security measures or wifi connections are present or ISP that you use.

Assistance can be availed from your companys network team, where the server box is installed, i presume

Hi Ruc,

if this is your home server, it is more easy for you to access

if the server is installed at your home.

instead of connecting it using a laptop

try to connect directly to the server machine's ip address

more on the connection part is available on google

also, go through help.sap.com to find different guides for your self learning

HI Ruc,

This can be because, your iphone is not in the same network as that of your laptop.

can you try keeping it in the same network and check.

you must have created a ad-hoc network wifi, to connect your iphone.

also, try to use ip address instead of name bodemo on the iphone

Hi Ruc,

great

now try the same using SAP BI app on iphone

use ip address instead of name

http://ipaddress:8080 in place of server url

while,  cms name ipaddress ( of the server, which will be the same as above )

try to connect

for name ip resolution, make host entries on you server machine for your laptop

on the server machine go to start>run>drivers>etc>hosts

open this file with notepad

add entries for ip address and name of the laptop. For references, check google
