Hello Sheng,
dont worry, this is normal in Aix.
The SAP-tools dont always get the situation right,
for example if you use CPU virtualization under AIX the SAP tools
often think there is 100% CPU usage (what is not true, because the Aix sheduler always provides
enough cpu). So dont get too worried.
Take a look at topas (os-Tool) and in the right section:
MEMORY
Real,MB 16128
% Comp | 82 |
% Noncomp 9
% Client | 9 |
Interesting is %COMP, this roughly shows the Memory Utilization. Further take a look in the section below, if your paging space starts to get used or you see significant Paging activity (all in the topas screen, sections PAGING SPACE and PAGING) you have a problem.
Otherwise, and this is the usual case in Aix, you have no problem.
Aix tries to use all the memory. This is normal.

Hi,
Remember too that this is UNIX, so the OS will put stuff into memory in order to improve performance, like file system information. This might be reflected in NWA, but that memory is still available to the server should it need it. The OS will just evict its own stuff and re-allocate to the applications and processes which need it.

Graham
