Hi All,

I am in the process of identifying tables to be migrated to SAP HANA. However i just wanted to know if i also need to migrate the Data Dictionary tables to SAP HANA. Tables starting with DD***. Also please let me know if we need to consider tables like REPOSRC, REPOLOAD, REPOTEXT to be migrated to SAP HANA.

Regards

Nilesh

Hi Nilesh,

Which replication technology are you using to load data into HANA?

SLT or BODS

If you are going to use SLT, then metadata of all the tables stored in Source System is send to HANA.

DD02L - stores the table list

DD02T - stores the table short description

DD08L - has R/3 DD relationships

After that the tables that are suited for your needs, you can replicate them to HANA.

You can check following blogs for  more info:

Dear Vivek,

Thank you for the information. However i wanted to know apart from those three tables specified by you do we need to replicate other data dicstionary tables. As when i do the table identification i get lot of dictionary tables associated to custom programs. I just wanted to know if we need to consider them for replication using SLT.

Dear Nilesh,

When you use SLT, you use transaction LTR to create a new configuration.

After you click "OK" button then automatically Replication Control Tables(RS*) and DD* tables get replicated to HANA System.

After these tables are replicated successfully, HANA studio knows which tables are available in the source system

You can go to Data Provisioning tab in HANA Studio and you can check all the tables present in your Source System should be visible to you.

These tables should get replicated automatically. After this, you feel that there is need to load other tables, you can replicate them to HANA.

SLT is used only to replicate tables with atleast one key fields.

If you want to make changes in any of your existing tables then you can perform them using SLT

Vivek
