SAP MC start sap instance automatically after server reboot

Hello all

I have a SAP Instance installed on the same server where the SAP MC is. I want to have the instance to start automatic when I reboot the server.

anybody know how I can do that?

My server runs windows server 2008 and the SAP system manager is v1.0 the MC is v.3.0

Hi Constantine,

Please try this:

  • You must make sure that SAP[SID]_00 service is set to start automatically.
  • You must edit your SAP START profile and add this line:  Autostart=1
  • Make sure that the line you added IS NOT the last one in your file. if it is, your added parameter could be ignored.

To test this out, shutdown SAP and your database, then shutdown the SAP[SID]_00 service. Now start it, open SAPMMC to see if you see any starting activity. it should work fine.

The SAP Start profile no longer exists in NW7.3.

Any ideas how to auto start SAP when usnig NW7.3 and higher.

I don't think the parameter Autostart=1 can be used any longer.

Thoughts?
