Data receive failed error running merge partitions

Hi folks,

I'm trying to remove partitions on a rather large BSEG table so that I can re-partition a different way.  The problem I am having is the merge partition job is failing after about 7 hours and maybe 65% progress with the error below.  I am about to create a message with SAP but figured I would post here in case anybody has experienced this problem or can tell me where to look for more details on this error.

[-708] Data receive failed [Software caused connection abort: recv failed].

Hi Patrick ,

Please check the diagnosis files area . I beleive index server might have crashed . it may have created a Index server crash dump or a RTE dump file
