PI alert mail failed!

Hi !

In my system the alert mails are sent from PIRWBUSER to specified users .

In SCOT,  I have filled in the SMTP's IP, PORT and DEFAULT DOMAIN.

In SU01, I have filled in the EMAIL ADDRESS for PIRWBUSER as sender and the users as receiver.

But i cannot find where to set password for PIRWBUSER's email accout.

As far as i understand, the email is first sent to the SMTP server which has the same domain with the PIRWBUSER's email account.

Then the email is sent to other users by email server.

Does't smtp need a password, or I understood the process totally wrong!

expecting ur reply!

thanks!

Hi,

As said by Muniyappan, in SCOT, need to specify the mail-host and mail-port for the respective

mail server.

After, need to specify the email-address of the recipient under "Supported address types".

Post the issue you are facing.

Refer the following guide for Alert Configuration steps

http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00e97ba2-85ce-2b10-20bc-bc05cd172...

Hi,

if you are configuring in SCOT(classical alerting system) you don't need to give username and password for smtp. you need to give ip address and port number.

pi will make use of mail server to send the mail to mentioned email id.

what is the issue you are facing?

Hope it helps.

Regards,

Muniyappan.

thanks for your rely!

Our environment is Web AS 7.00

the alert email used to work well. but the old email server expired, so we have to change to a new email server which needs TLS encrytion. we found sap doesn't support email encryption and we do not want to use email proxy.

what adjustments should be done on the mail server to make that works well.
