Hi Expert!!

I am using MS-SQL 2005 on 64 bit processor.

MY PRDLOG.LDF has been reached to 30gb which occupied the whole disk space.

I am not able to work on SAP system and backup cannot be done.

What are steps required to empty the log file. and I want to also configure the schedule to clear the log automatically.

I have been stuck in the "transacation log for database 'PRD' is full. To find out why space cannot be reused, see the log_reuse_wait_desc column in sys.databases"

My log disk was 30GB in Production, here recommendation required , how to clear the archive log automatically.

Follow Note 421644 - SQL error 9002: The transaction log is full

Why you are not able to perform the backup? I think you have not specified the size for the log file and it has eaten whole disk.

Thank for your reply, I have been posted the question at once when i was working parallel to find out the solution.

I have been backed up the database and transaction log file. and shrink the log file which has been dramatically reduced the size from 30 gb to 5 1.7gb.
