Dear All,
I am an infant to the SAP World.
We have process chains in our BW servers. Once the process chains are finished we need to report the same for the respective team lead.
I got to know that through SAP we can make alerts to the mobile devices.
If so what are the pre requisites for the same to be achieved. Will BW aerver alone is sufficient for making this kind of alets?
Please give me some inputs for the above.
Will be thankful for you.
Regards,
Kishore.Pulla.
we have developed a small syncbo that log error messages of bapi calls to client device from a temporary table in sap db.

Hi Kishore,
With the Computing Center Management System (CCMS), you as administrator can monitor the systems of SAP MI. AdminSAP MI Client Component messages. These include, for example, warning messages if a certain percentage of the remaining storage is exhausted. You can edit the status of the alerts manually in the detailed display.
1. transaction MI_ALMON With the alert monitor, you can display the alerts that were reported to the CCMS. You can make your selections on the basis of various criteria. The entire history is displayed.
2. You can strart the Alert monitor by calling transaction RZ20. there in that tree strucurte you will find BW monitor too.
Hope this give you a beginning at least. Find the link helpful:

Hi Bhanu,
How shud I configure this (your iMate PDA) to a SAP server?
Please use these links. Enumerating the process is just redoing the whole work.

How shud I send SMS from the BW server to the PDA? Is it possible?
Yes, it is possible to do so. Generally we use this SMS sending scenario in case an exception occurs. The Alert Scenario is a function that sends an automatic SMS or email message to a mobile end device. If you included an exception in your mobile application, you can use the Reporting Agent to send an SMS.
This doc will help you sending email/SMS to PDA as alerts.

Hi Kishore,
We have a concept of System messeges from server to the mobile.
Suppose if the administrators wants to send any critical info to the users of mobile they can send it through System messeges.
MI_SYNEWS is the transaction

Karthick

Dear Karthick,
When I am using the stated MI_SYNEWS TCode, I find the create message icon.
When I select the same. It is not asking the destination number. (I mean to which mobile it has to go). I doubt whether this is the TCode used for sending SMS to mobile devices? What r the prerequisites for this to send the alerts.
Regards,
Kishore.
Hi Bhanu,
Try to create a messege there...
Who ever is using that server(Midddleware) will get the messege.
Suppose if you are syncing your MI client with 'X' server...then create a messege in 'X' server and try to sync your MI client..you will be able to see that messege in your MI client(mobile).
Cheers,
Karthick
Hi Bhanu,
<<how do v add a new Mobile to the Server?>>
When we install a MI client in PDA/Laptop we give the settings of the server and sync to get the deviceID.
PDA and laptop can be connected to Server ,its a known thing.
So here when we create the messeges using the Tcode(mentioned above) and these messeges will b displayed to the client when ever we sync.
Cheers,
Karthick
