Fiori Launch page - no tab - blank issue

Hello All,

We have implemented Fiori where all the apps are working fine except Launch page.

We are on SAPUI5

I have already referred following threads

We have matched all the conditions and applied all the notes

Only SAP note 1852767 says "Cannot be Implemented" .... ??

although we have matched the preconditions of applying note 1856299 and then 1866303 in sequence.

In SAP note 1852767 - It says this note contains bundle of 5 notes but there is no corrections applied?

Is there something I am missing here?

I have also tried to apply Note 1868136 - but no luck,

We have noticed that required BADI is not getting called in the launch page program.

Hi Tushar,

Did you assign this role SAP_UI2_LAUNCH_PAGE to the Fiori users. This is required to see the tiles (Roles) assigned to a Fiori user on the Home Page.

I am not able to see the tiles in SAP Fiori launchpage where it is showing blank screen.

We solved the issue by configuring the Pagebuilder and Launchpad services to "local" system alias.

What was wrong system alias? Was it pointing to ERP backend?

Yes we changed the system alias which was pointing to Backend ERP to "Local

We assumed that the system alias would be ERP as it is not specified in the installation guide, but later with long follow up with SAP Support we changed it to "local" and suddenly all tiles were visible.

Hi Mihir,

I know it is confusing.

You should look at installation guide for UI add-on. I think it does not mention anything about ERP.

General understanding:

+ SAPUI5 components and Gateway components are installed on Gateway. -> system alias should points to local.

+ Fiori OData add-on are installed on ERP. -> system alias should point to ERP.

Can you help me with the exact issue/error which you are experiencing while using launch page.

Hi Tushar,

at a recent Fiori implementation I also had the problem with note 1852767, I could not implement it. Despite this we could still open the launchpage successfully. Did you activate all necessary SICF services (UI2, UI5, etc.).

Please use HTTPWatch/Network console, etc in your browser to determine if some URLs are called which have a 404 return code and check if there are some SICF service which have to be activated for those URLs.

Which browser are you using?

Hi Martin,

As per Installation guide we have activated all the required SICF services. All the other Fiori apps working fine.

I have tried to open launch page on Chrome latest , Mozilla  as well as Internet explorer 10 but no luck.

To debug this I even tried to execute using REST client on chrome but no error or alert message as such...

Let me know if there are any other debug options....

Hi Tushar,

I am just saying because I had a very similar issue and it was due to not activated components. Of course the implementation of note 1852767 has to be fixed anyway.

If you want to double check:

If you are using IE and have the developer tools, press F12 once you are on the launch page, go to "Network" and start capturing. Refresh the launch page and see if all called services are responding with a 200 status code.

Thanks for reply....

I have tried with the option you have suggested , at browser side I am not getting any 404 error,  all are 200 OK status...

Even I have checked at Services side (using option $metadata as per this link http://scn.sap.com/message/14141454) I can see that data is getting fetched at Gateway side but it is not reflecting at Fiori side.

In fact I don't see any errors or alert or any log where I can trace what is that I am missing in configuration ... any clue?
