Iam unable to understand the difference between dcn with payload and dcn without payload
you may some input from below link

The answer is straight forward.
DCN with payload: The message from the SAP server contains the data also and it will update the CDB.
DCN without payload: The message will not contain data. The message will only contain information on change in the backend data. Once the user perform an operation from his device (like a click on a button) the data will be updated to the CDB.
