Dear Experts,

I'm posting another question, as my first one isn't yet approved by the moderators (!!!)

so I can't edit it...

I am changing the SID of the system, the DB part was done perfectly, but now SAP doesn't

start at all !! WPs are dying out and when I check in dev_w0, I have:

C  Connecting as /@<OLDSID> on connection 0 (nls_hdl 0) ... (dbsl 700 140910)

C  Nls CharacterSet                 NationalCharSet                   EnvHp      ErrHp ErrHpBatch

C    0 UTF8                                                      0000000032370EC0 00000000323790F0 0000000032395918

C  Attaching to DB Server <OLDSID> (con_hdl=0,svchp=00000000323957D8,srvhp=0000000032397C08)

C Wed Jul 31 18:32:26 2013

C     OCIServerAttach(OCI_DEFAULT) failed with SQL error 12154:

C     ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified

C  *** ERROR => CONNECT failed with sql error '12154'

[dbsloci.c    11437]

C  SAPUSER or connect error 99=DBSL_ERR_DB, oerr=12154.

B  ***LOG BV3=> severe db error 12154     ; work process is stopped [dbsh#3 @ 1203] [dbsh    1203 ]

WHY is it trying to connect to the old SID ??? This is really driving me nuts !!

How does the WP knows to which SID to connect ??? Where does it get this bad information from ???

ALL the environment variables AND the profiles have been already maintained and there is no trace from

the previous SID there !!

PLEASE help me, this is really urgent. If you can smell something weird, that's my SAP burning!!! 😄

Hello Symon,

You should check your listener.ora, listener.log, sqlnet.ora and sqlnet.log files.

Also, check note 562403.
