What are the most significant memory parameters?

Hi,

Installed NW04s ABAP preview and it was rather slow.

Added memory to give it 2GB, still slow.

Added more memory, to give it 3GB and I noticed it doesn't use it. It seems to be configured to use around 1-1.5GB and that's that.

Can anyone point me to the most significant parameters to change to make it use the memory more effectively? (And where to change them).

Any input appreciated,

Hello Mike,

You could try to adjust the parameter:

PHYS_MEMSIZE = 128

in the profile. The profile is located at <INSTALL_DIR>\NSP\SYS\profile\NSP_DVEBMSG00_<HOSTNAME>

Hi Mike,

When u say the system is slow is it the sapgui logon slow or transaction performance. Havbe u set the peoper no of dialog work processes . Kindly check that first.

If you are referring to the ABAP sneak preview, not sure which parameters, but you can modify them via transaction RZ10.

BTW, the sneak preview ABAP runs pretty good on my laptop with 2GB memory.
