BO4 - IDT New Business layer and Business Security profile not working

H,

Using bo4 idt toll (bo4 sp6) and have created a new business layer which contains some of the classes of the master view.

Have then set up business security profile and applied this profile to the group concerned - adding the business layer on the create query and display data tabs.

When view in WEBI - can access the universe but don't see any objects in the universe all to create query from.

Only way can get this to work is grant access  to the master view and then deny access to certain classess in the master view to the group concerned.

Whilst can use this as workaround would ideally like to use the new business layer view.

Also even when use this workaround get message

Anyone seen this before/got it working.

Hi Phil,

Seems like there are still some open issues with respect to Business security profiles. Did you refer to below by any chance. Few issues reported related to applying security profile on user groups.

1843001 - How do you prevent BI 4.0 SP05 Web Intelligence Query Panel on appearance removing Result Objects objects not visible in initial Business Layer View selected?

1808854 - BI 4.0: In Information Design Tool, newly saved business security profile overwrites any existing ones

1719256 - Business Security profile created in Information Design Tool is applied to user but not on group in BI 4.0

Hi Mallik,

Thanks for the links. 

We are using bo4 support pacakge 6 so 1719256 should be resolved I'd hope.

Appreicate though looks like some issues.

Has anybody got it working?
