MRP Run considering Stocks for Multiple Plants and Requirement maintained for Plant Cluster

Hello Friends,

We have a query regarding MRP Run in SAP R/3. There is one requirement wherein we are Planning Material Requirement (Single Requirement) for Multiple Plants and for the requirements Stocks available for all this Plants in Cluster should be considered while generations of actual procuremenmt requirements.

Below is example of the same.

We have 4 Plants Location wherein 1 is Mother Plant Location and other 3 are Subcontracting Location. We receive clubbed Requirements for all this Plants and for this requirement the availability of stocks should be checked considering stocks and open Orders available at all Plant Locations.

Suppose there is requirement after BOM Split for X material of 1000 nos. and Total of Opening Stock at all Plants in Cluster is 250 + Open PO at all Plants in Cluster is 250 then System should generate Planned Order for 500 Nos. only.

Plant BOM SplitOp. Stk - BlkStkOpen POPlanned Requirement
MP011000 10050500
SP01500
SP0260200
SP03400

We tried to search for any option which can cater this requirement but not able to find relevant option which we can use.

Request you all to please help if any settings in SAP through which we can configure this and run MRP successfully.

Thanks,

Mithun Shah

Hello Mithun

It has just been discussed on the following thread:

http://scn.sap.com/thread/3394925

As I mentioned on the thread, MRP does not consider the stock or planning elements of other plants.

You can try to develop your own logic to conisder the stock of the other plant using BAdI MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA. Method CHANGE_MDPSX_MARD can be used to manipulate the stock quantity.

Hello Caetano,

Thanks for the reply.

Similar to Stocks, I would like to know whether we can make system consider Open Purchase Orders of Child Plant while planning for the mother Plant. Will the same BADI help.

Also would like to know if maintaining Planning Plant in MRP view of Material Master help. Can we use this in achieving mentioned requirement. If yes what parameters should be maintained to achieve this.

Thanks.

Hi Mithung

Please observe that this is a very complex development, which changes the MRP standard logic.

BAdI MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA allows you to determine if an MRP element will be relevant or change it, but it does not allow you to include a new MRP element.

You can use BAdI MD_ADD_ELEMENTS to include a new element on the plant.

For such a complex scenario, you should consider an APO implementation, so that you can plant several plants together.

Dear Canteno,

We have developed the BAdI MD_CHANGE_MRP_DATA but after taking MRP run system considering locked Purchase order Items stock in consideration to the parent plant stock.

We are not able to close those Purchase orders as those are very old.

We would like to know how we can restrict such Purchse order line items.

Regards,
