Error while Testing Connection to BW in IDT

Dear all

     i created a relational connection to sap BW from information design tool when i try to test the connection i got this error

     com.sap.connectivity.cs.java.drivers.DBDError: [Data Federator Driver] [Server] [Connector 'testSourceConnection1375172555910'] An error occurred      while trying to ping the server: Could not start JCo Server. See the trace log file 'dev_jco_rfc.trc' for more details.

     any help about this error

In Addition to what Henry suggested, also refer to the below to ensure you have everything set with RFC configuration and ensure you are using the right app server details in the connection.

Hi,

this will be a problem in the SAP Gateway configuration in BW.

You can check the correctness of gateway information, go to transaction /nSE37 in BW.

Open the RSDRI_DF_GET_SYSTEM_INFO function. Click on Execute/Test to see values returned for the system information.

Typically, what I see is that:  the SAP BASIS Administrator needs to ammend the values in the SAP gateway config, and set correct values for the Gateway (hostname, service, etc.).

You would then need to enter the confirmed/corrected values as parameters for connection properties in IDT. (Typically, an ABAP Gateway Host or Service was not correctly identified, or a fully qualified name needs to be used)

Also, sometimes the REGINFO.DAT and SECINFO.DAT files that are generated are not correctly configured.
