STO from Non Excisable Plant to Depot and Depot Sale

Hi,

I have a scenario. I am doing STO from manufacturing plant to Depot Plant. Manufacturing plant is non excisable. Now when the Item reaches Depot plant and from there it is getting sold to end Customer, will there be any Excise posting, for selling Item from Dept to end Customer. If yes, kindly advice for the process.

In case of depot, if the RG23D register entry exists for purchased material, then while selling this material, we can have sales entry against this purchased entry. In your case, since purchasing entry is not there as mnfg plant is non excisable, there wont be any sales entry.

Is you depot excisable? Please confirm.

If your manufacturing plant and depot are not excisable then there wont be any excise transaction needed in the STO cycle.

Hi,

No, there will not be any excise posting at the time of sale from Depot to customer. As your manufacturing plant is 'Non-excisable', as per excise rule, it can't generate 'Excise Invoice' and so can't pass on the 'Excise invoice' duty to Depot. So there will not be any excise invoice capture (RG23D) at the time of receipt in Depot. Excise invoice at sale from Depot will only come in to picture when you have captured excise invoice (RG23D Entry) at the time of receipt.
