Hi Vijay,

you can check the post installation steps here:

https://cookbook.experiencesaphana.com/bw/deploying-bw-on-hana/post-installation/

All the steps that you need to do after migration and what all checks are required are mentioned in the link.

https://cookbook.experiencesaphana.com/bw/deploying-bw-on-hana/post-installation/prepare-and-license...

You can also rerun the program ZBW_HANA_CHECKLIST and resolve any issues present.

Refer to SAP Note 1729988 - HANA Migration Readiness Check.

Vivek

Hi Vijay,

As per the Cookbook, you need to follow the following steps:

Making the system ready for users:
Perform installation check - execute transaction SICK.
Adapt and load system profiles - execute transaction RZ10.
Maintain operation modes - execute transaction RZ04.
Check logon groups - execute transaction SMLG.
Check RFC server groups - execute transaction RZ12.
Reconfigure change and transport system - execute transaction STMS in client 000.
Delete old logs
Run program RSPO1041 to delete old spool requests.
Run program RSSNAPDL to reorganize SNAP table and delete short dumps.
Run program RSBPSTDE to delete statistic data from job runtime statistics.
Run program RSBTCDEL2 to delete batch jobs.
Run program RSM13002 to delete update requests.
Run program RSARFCER to delete old tRFC entries.
Run program SWNC_COLLECTOR_CLEAN_SWNCMONI to delete old ST03N source system data.

Refer to SAP Note 1069439 - ST03N contains data from the source system after system copy.

Maintain spool server
Check self-defined external commands - execute transaction SM69.
Import SAP licenses - execute transaction SLICENSE.
Refer to SAP Note 94998 - Requesting license keys and deleting systems.
Check and adapt RFC destinations.
Check partner profiles - execute transaction WE20.
Check IDoc ports - execute transaction WE21.
Adjust the BI Enqueue Server name. This applies only if the host has been changed for the BW Application server
Execute transaction RSPLSE if you are using BI Planning.

Refer to SAP Note 996238 - Dump: 'RFC connection error' after BW system copy.

Check, repair or restore BW source systems - execute transaction RSA1.
Check and repair inconsistencies - To check, run program RSAR_PSA_NEWDS_MAPPING_CHECK without Repair option.

If you find inconsistencies, re-run program RSAR_PSA_NEWDS_MAPPING_CHECK with Repair option.

Run BW post-migration reports - run program RS_BW_POST_MIGRATION in background with variant SAP&POSTMGRHDB.

Refer to SAP Note 1657995 - Corrections for RS_BW_POSTMIGRATION.

Check correctness of tables - run program RSDU_TABLE_CONSISTENCY.
Resolve DDIC database inconsistencies - run program RUTMSJOB.
Restart all process chains and RDA daemons - run program RS_SYSTEM_SHUTDOWN.
Adapt and reschedule background jobs - run report BTCTRNS2.
Execute SAP Load Generator - execute transaction SGEN.
Optional steps:
Check for inactive objects - run program RSUPGRCHECK to ensure overall object consistency.
Check for inactive DTP - run program RSDG_TRFN_ACTIVATE.
Rerun the program ZBW_HANA_CHECKLIST and resolve any issues present.

Refer to SAP Note 1729988 - HANA Migration Readiness Check.

Assign System roles and privileges.
Setup base paths for all backups.
Optional Steps:
Convert standard DSOs to new In Memory DSOs – execute transaction RSMIGRHANADB or run program RSDRI_CONVERT_CUBE_TO_INMEMORY.
Convert standard InfoCubes to new In Memory InfoCubes – execute transaction RSMIGRHANADB or run program RSDRI_CONVERT_CUBE_TO_INMEMORY.
Remove partitions from LSA and simplify data architecture by reducing layers

Also refer to SAP Note 1712334 - this note has list of more than hundreds of other notes that have  solutions for different errors that you might face after BW on HANA migration.

Hi Vivek,

Thanks a lot for your giving more information about after BW on HANA migration.

I have a question what abt Process chain, after Migration process chain what are all the checks required. Suppose in BW System I have created Process chain build Index, deleted index, rollup, compress etc..... its same thing effected after migration from BW to HANA.

Could you please provide me solutions, or documents.

Hi Vijay,

If this is just DB migration there is no change needed in existing process chain.

If you migrate your cubes/DSO for HANA optimize then you require to decide on your process chain redesign.

Hi Vijay,

You can remove all these processes within your process chains – which again leads to a faster and more simplified data load.

Even if you do not remove these processes in the process chains, they will simply do nothing - they are not executed and are skipped.

To know more about Obsolete Process Types, check this link:

Hi Vijay,

I already told you these process types are not required after migrating to HANA, they are no longer used.

There is no need to modify your existing process chains.

Could you please read all the steps mentioned and understand them once before asking other questions:
